Representing Team Pakistan on the world stage, working under real deadline pressure with a team that had never built a competition robot before.

FIRST Global brings young people from around the world together to use robotics on global challenges. Along with the competition, the experience is about collaboration, learning, and “coopertition.”
GENEVA · 2022FIRST Global is an annual, Olympics-style international robotics challenge that unites young people from more than 190 countries. Since 2017, shared engineering themes and “coopertition” have connected STEM learning with global challenges.
The team built its robot in three months for the 2022 Carbon Capture challenge. It collected black balls representing CO₂ and delivered them to a central sink to simulate removing emissions. The robot could also bring balls to corner compressors for human assistance, then attempt long-term storage by parking on the sink base or hanging from its cantilevered bars.
Team Pakistan secured a position in the 8th Alliance. I worked on hardware integration and sensor calibration while learning to adapt a first-time competition robot under international event pressure.
